Tornado destruction in Sandusky, Ohio. Sandusky Library Archives Research Center.

Down by the railroad yard, the funnel sucked an office building off its foundation. When it collapsed, three people died. Farther down the street, another man was lifted into the air and hurled to his death. The tornado then hit the rail yard and lifted two train cars simultaneously into the air. Then it flung the cars together like two pieces of bread in a sandwich, crushing a yard worker caught between them.

The tornado was extremely destructive at the train yard in Sandusky, Ohio. Sandusky Library Archives Research Center.
